in what could be called aybees first techno outing, 3 tunes which mesh rhythm, drive, & sonic colorings. in line with the deepblak ethos, but rounded off with a simple directive. movement.

deep dub techno music - mastered by salz music. with >the tube< the seventh release of the label tiefenrausch awakes – this time out of the hands of biodub. as a reminiscence to the early times of dub, the record comes as 7inch vinyl. in a classical but innovative manner biodub creates a tune between relaxed as well as driving beats and an irresistible deepness. the record presents one track in two different versions. while “the tube” solely bets on the instrumental deepness, “until forever” comes with the voice of ray darwin and disperses a pinch of reggae into the track. the vinyl is decorated with the artwork of alexander ketzer. he created the perfect cover referring to jules verne. 20.000 leagues under the sea – exactly the right slogan for tiefenrausch 007.

the soul notes imprint has never restricted itself to just one sound. ever since it emerged in late 2011, the basque county based outfit has shown several sides of its identity and has developed into a diverse and well balanced home. one of the labels usual suspects is cologne native, adryiano. after reaping some havoc with his efforts on the snx series early last year, adryiano has been crafting his down south ep (ironically) somewhere in the north rhine-westphalian concrete jungle. the down south ep is buldging with deep sine basses, fine rhythmic synthwork and lavish but hefty beats. the title track showcases these exact things best. the essence of adryiano s latest effort is still somewhat hard to pin down. a lot of different moods are going on throughout the ep while the overall sounds maintains it s own glance. from the deep machinefunk on down south to the broken beats of feel what you do. all of these bits have a nice theme to them.

adult only shape is back with an intriguing collaboration, between the mysterious frenchie monsieur georget and young parisian talent le loup. a combination of the old skool with the new skool, the sounds are just that. each take a pounding bass and a solid minimal-tech stance and layer their character on top. a1 is scattered with futuristic bleeps and computerised murmurs, interspersed with reminiscing vocals, while a2 is the most raw in nature, with a tough techno feel until the smooth overtones set in and a feeling of euphoria takes over. but some may say b1 is say arguably the standout track, for its intoxicating vocal and irresistible underlying swing and groove.

the second molten moods release contains works by natan h, jonas friedlich, jonas yamer, einer weniger and mono.mental. like its predecessor this ep aims at creating coherence through certain types of grooves and atmospheres rather than genre criteria. the tracks are definitely meant to be played in a club but also qualify for sweetening your vespertine living room hang out. vinyl only release.

currently causing quite a stir on the underground, the jerome hill remix of marshall jeffersons s trax classic lost in the groove is a complete re-interpretation, solid jacking (hard) house music using the original vocal that s cut loud onto the vinyl and worms inside your head and has been doing serious damage in the clubs and festivals last year. now with all licensing and red tape cleared away, it s set for release. dancer boom boom is actually a collaboration between acid legend adonis and sidney winters, with a mix down by house legend frankie knuckles. this sat on the b side of am a dog on trax records and is rare & obscure to say the least, but once the needle touches the groove you know it s a killer. massive kick drums and mysterious organ scales, this one is a mad mad tune ! produced in 1987 (and sounding like nothing else from that year) it s been given a very slight and very respectful re-arrangement by jerome hill, remastered and cut super loud. strictly limited and if the previous titles on the label are anything to go by, this one will sell out equally quick.

a quest for form which is never static and accompanied by two constants - repetition and reduction. reduction requires repetition in order to make the intangible tangible for man. this repetition also stimulates our perception and helps us find an inner self while illuminating towards the primal thought. another synonym for *intangible* is *not human* - for the most reductive of primal thoughts, sprung from fractal chance, does not deal with human beings but with a formal language that is universal, drawing from the innermost, and only becomes tangible in accidental, fortuitous moments.

the detroit music community has outposts in nearly every major city, and vancouver, british columbia is no exception. this ep represents the connection of two such artists, detroit native, josh garrett, who currently resides in vancouver and runs the subspec label, and rennie foster, a stalwart of the underground, who has spent a quarter of his life in tokyo, but born in bc and now living back there, in vancouver. rennie has released on a myriad of detroit labels, such as transmat, teknotika, soiree, subject detroit, wallshaker, and motech. josh and rennie met in vancouver, only since rennies recent return, and realizing they were of the same tribe, immediately began to collaborate on a number of projects, now including this limited run, double a-side, record, chalk full of dj friendly techno trax, firmly rooted in the motor city sound, yet unique enough to be a contributor, not just another imitator.

this is a 12inch single by shoebox, a previously unheralded blip on the electronic music continuum. they sometimes make music, but only when the moon is rising. mostly, they bide their time, inhabiting the shadowy space at the back of the cupboard alongside out-of-date tins of food, unloved christmas presents, forgotten records and misguided charity shop purchases

photonz is marco rodriguez, a london based but portuguese producer who has been active for a decade plus. here he debuts on creme organization after impressing with eps on ibadan, one eyed jacks and unknown to the unknown

this four track ep kicks off with cladistic mutation , a sparse underwater soundtrack with only the gentlest suggestion of rhythm, lots of reverb and tiny little details that float by like micro-bacterial debris. m2 is a more beat driven dub track but is still way below the surface: the kicks are smooth and hunched over, the chords are smeared out in all directions and the atmosphere is lo-fi and grainy. on the flip, grain gets even more energetic, with firm techno kick drums setting a stern tempo as all sorts of aqueous details and spacious effec ts peppe r the groove. there s a heavenly nature to the pads and an industrial texture to the percussion that makes this a cerebral but physical affair from start to finish. lastly, neurowaves closes things down in blissfully dubbed out and horizontal fashion, with large sweeping pads, tweaked filters and evocative little details all placing you firmly under water.

mannequin records is proud to present a double lp and cd compilation of one of the most important industrial bands active during the 80s in the uk. bourbonese qualk were an experimental music group from england who where active from 1979 until 2003. throughout this period they had a number of different line-ups but this album concentrates on the period from 1983 until 1987 with the trio of simon crab, julian gilbert and steven tanza. during this time the group released five albums: laughing afternoon, hope, the spike, preparing for power and the self-titled bourbonese qualk on their own recloose organisation and new international records labels.

12 releases strong already, a:rpia:r has been silent for the last 2 years, since petre inspirescu’s gradina onirica hit the shelves of your favourite record shop. it is now raresh’s turn to release something special and indeed he did. vivaltu is an old gem, a subtle uplifting track driven by a powerful resonator, perfect for that “special moment”. the male mumbling voices provide the track with that extra eclectic feel. this is in fact raresh’s only track on vivaltu ep, the rest are remixes. side b presents a minimal house interpretation remix by none other than chilean legend and friend, ricardo villalobos. the resonator is still here but in come some childish voices to make it all perfect. perfect for the dancefloor. side c brings forward another member of the a:rpia:r family, none other than contemporary wizard petre inspirescu. his take has a very cinematic approach, building and building for 4 minutes before the kick even starts. the rich percussive atmosphere is completed with a brilliant melody reminiscent of his classical experiments. this track is an absolute masterpiece ! aloe varu is the third chosen for this remix pack and indeed he was chosen wise. his stripped down remix spans for 13 minutes and completes the story of a:rpia:r 13.

theres no doubt that the apollonia trio are on fire, 2014 has been a whirlwind of berlin studio production, to reigning in ibiza, to dropping their debut album tour à tour to a rapturous reception. but straight back to the label with a new ep, they proudly present breaking talent diego krause. hailing from east berlin, krause already caused a stir amongst the heads with releases on his own label unison wax and co-owned beste modus, unison wax 02 swiftly landing itself a 4/5 on resident advisor and pricking up the ears of the apollonia boys. serving up three quality tracks very much in-keeping with apollonias own sound, you can easily imagine any one fitting perfectly into the later hours of their b2b2b sets. * right about now* establishes its presence with a powerful bassline and solid clap, before deep swirling synths enter, as does an echoing xylophone to truly euphoric effect. the slightly eerie, but mostly intoxicating, * dreams* brings a subtle groove and conjures up those early morning moments, while * manitu* the most peak-team of the three, is a bouncy number full of positive energy and a strong tech-house edge, that will go down a treat on any dancefloor

afu welcomes dave simon from frankfurt with his harder bangin techno tracks on his methanal ep ! as a dj he played his forcing sets at so illustrious places like tresor, nature one, u60311, monza, airport, elektrokueche to name but a few and delivers without doubt, what he is known for as a prime time dj !

our next big release at bad barbie, going out on digital and 12 inch, comes by the hand of aldo cadiz itself, but this time partnered with kareem cali. these two made a fantastic three track ep called monita ep. the first track monita presents a solid base created with a classic tech style and an extremely groovy bass line. full of small arrangements and a crazy vocal line, this tracks its perfect for any club dj. the second track bonita, is the one with the more old school vibe, from the bass line to the main acid synth, which goes evolving softly with a filter during the track to generate the needed tension. all this with a strong tech groove to follow the step of this solid ambience created by the acid synths. the last track moni, also has many techno and acid elements presents. we can perceive the techno soul mainly on the arrangement of the hi-hats and bass line, but the acid synth in triplet at the backend is what generates the crazy vibe and almost hypnotic feeling during the track, playing around with the volume of it. definitely a fantastic release to add to any collection.

black vinyl edition ... beat a track that already is a hit? nearly impossible ? but not for noir music. they just took superfunk s lucky star and dropped it into a damn hot new edition for 2012. thanks again to solomun (diynamic, supernature) for another brilliant remix work. kolombo takes it back to the oldschool days with a deep work and a real 303 acid edit. overall a superb must-have package.

among the things that go boom in the night, the slick but rugged house jams from terranova certainly occupy a territory on their own - these cuts are precision engineered to rouse any lazy crowd, while providing enough depth for the auditory cerebral cortex to keep spinning.

nice price deal !!! marking the first output of cymasonic s offshot vinyl-only label and collabaration with subwax distribution, the balder ep is a two-hundred copy, hand stamped entry into the world of cymawax. there s no better way to start than with four quality tracks of hot and crunchy norwegian techno with soul by trulz & robin, under their new moniker for otherworldly machine sounds: ksmisk. the duo from oslo have been a force in norway s electronic music scene for over two decades, but their current project is set to bend and exceed all expectations. the title track makes full use of spacial effects to create the kind of landscape deserving of the cavernous exchange of industrial rooms or the breathing walls of smaller sweatboxes. its energetic arpeggiation carries the driving, raw bass line home. less linear and more neurotic, -jonson- squelches its way into existence. next, -water- is as fluid as the name suggests, using deep, delayed dub chords to sustain listeners during its eight minute life. finally, the release ends on -tehjerk- which is full of electricity, heavily charged with distortion and powerful drums before opening up into a euphoric waterfall of melodies. it s fitting that this chronicle should end up pressed onto wax, a monument to the physical launch of cymawax and trulz & robin presenting ksmisk.
